To mark Women’s History Month, we’re remembering Alice Hamilton, M.D., a leader who pioneered research in industrial medicine. Her work, including the study of carbon monoxide poisoning in steelworkers, and the scientific integrity she brought to understanding the social consequences of occupational disease, led to sweeping reforms that improved the health of workers.
